P4V is a program that
provides a special opportunity for veterans to save the life of a pet in need. P4V places adoptable pets in homes with veterans to serve as companions. 
Based on the needs of the veteran owner, Smiles Forever Animal Rescue can arrange for food, routine vet care, and transportation to veterinary appointments. 

Veterans are able to contact Smiles Forever Animal Rescue through e-mail, telephone, text, or through our website- whichever works best for them. 

SFAR wants to make pet ownership a reality and allow veterans to experience the benefits of owning a companion animal. 

We want to thank you for your service by paying the adoption fee & supplying you with food and routine veterinary care! ​

Basic Guidelines to Qualify:
​
Must be a veteran

Must have no other pets

Desire a companion pet, but unable to afford one

Able to provide adequate care for a pet: 
1. allow sufficient time for food drop off, if needed
2. keep veterinary appointments
3. contact SFAR if animal becomes hurt or ill
4. contact SFAR if rehoming of pet becomes necessary

Want to support our Smiles Pets for Veterans? You can sponsor the adoption fee of any of our adoptable pets. We waive the adoption fee for our veterans so your sponsorship covers neuter/spay, microchipping, and vaccinations. Adult dogs are $50, puppies are $75-$100, and cats/kittens are $20. Click on the red donation button on the homepage to donate.
